I generally start lessons by doing some short court light hitting to assess a student's ability and then move accordingly to work on basics: ground strokes, volleys, overhead, and serve spending more time on any particular areas of concern. I also focus on footwork and fitness. If the student is more advanced, I like to add in precision drills and playing out points to simulate actual match play.
